Real life right here right now. My wife recently went back to school. So we are adjusting to the college tuition and the other fees that go along with attending college, mind you, all her classes are online. So she purchases the books she needs from the campus booksstore. I kindly offer to pick up the book for her from the campus bookstore. She ordered the book online, paid for it online and the last transaction was delivery, that's me! So I go to pick up the book, friendly staff and everything. I look at the receipt and *BAM* $83.00. What she purchased was about half a ream of xeroxed paper and a CD. It was printed on three hole punch paper which conveniently gives you the ability to put the paper in a notebook, which by the way was not included. YES! I said the THREE DOLLAR notebook was not included.

Personally I felt abused. That we had no choice but to purchase a brand new copy of this three hole punched material. $83.00 FREAKING DOLLARS! for about $10.00 worth of paper and products.

HEY - I am all for everyone making money. Somebody wrote the book, somebody copyrighted the book, somebody created the CD and even somebody copied the book...Pay them all but not at the expense of the students. And the other little fact that we cannot trade the book in for any dollar amount. Somehow it expires from one semester to another or people do not want to purchase used three ring material - I beg to differ. I am not cheap but I don't mind finding a bargain and taking advantage of it.
